Employment Interview

Kenapa tiba2 aku ckp psl employment interview eh?? Bukan sbb aku nak kerja tau...Setakat nie blm ad lagi keje yg memerlukan aku pergi interview...Actually, hari ni class Work and Soceity my lecturer nk buat job interview utk satu class..sorg2 la...Siap kna buat cover letter and resume bagai...Mcm interview btl2 la..nie kira assignment kami...Eh, tapi aku bukan nak cerita pasal class assignment nie...Nak cerita pasal job interview la, sebab task ni buat aku teringat pada presentation yg aku ngn partner aku K.Syira and Niza pernah buat last sem utk class super duper borink English for Occupational Purpose...Kami buat pasal "PREPARATION FOR EMPLOYMENT INTERVIEW"... So, ape salah aku share some tips nie mane la tau berguna utk sesape yang nak pergi interview nak2 lagi yang dah nak grad tu...Mesti sibuk cari kerja sana cni kan. Di bawah ni la tips2 yang dapat aku kongsikan...(Sesuai utk bacaan umum [U] but jgn stress baca sbb tajuk kali nie mcm formal, serius and x lepak kn??)...xkn nak santai slalu...Aiyo...Tips nie dlm English sbb presentation aku dulu pn mmg dlm English. Kang ada plak kata aku saje nak tunjuk power...haha..=P


PrePAraTion FoR EmPloYmeNt InTeRviEw


BEFORE INTERVIEW

1. Knowledge about the organization
Find basic information about the organization.
(Search from any sources like the company's websites...Mcm la x biasa kan...)
It will reflect your interest about the position that you are asking.
You may able to impress the interviewer.

2. Know the job scope
Find the qualifications  and requirements to apply for that position.
What skills and abilities required by the organization?
Know about the responsibilities of job applied. 




3. Questions & Answers
Be prepared to answer any kind of question.
Sometimes the questions might be about your own strengths and weaknesses.
Can be on general knowledge/issues.
(So, rajin2 la amek tau hal ats dunia nie yer...Padahal aku nie pun baca paper sepurnama sekali jer..erk!)
Search some common questions during interview.
(Maybe from the internet or anyone who has experienced any job interview)
Do ask question if you have anything to know about the job or company.
(But only when you are asked by the interviewer to do so)
P/s: Jgn buat muka x bersalah tanya "En./Pn., agak2 bape gaji saya ek?" (Ni alamat nak kena lempaq ngan kasut ni...)

4. Prepare the related important document
Resume/CV to attract the employer.
Resume should be more comprehensive, attractive and free from any errors.
(Simple je bukan mcm esei nak anta kt Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka...kata comprehensive kn)
Include: Personal details, educational background, language proficiency, any skills, curricular activities, working experience, personal strengths, etc.
Recommendation letter.

DURING INTERVIEW

1. Bring important documents
Resume/CV is an important document required by any interviewer.
Resume/CV- to know more about the applicant particularly their strengths and weaknesses.
Cover letter and other certificates needed to shows applicant’s qualification.
Others document: citizenship, academic transcript, copy of references.
Document like driving license only for driver applicants.

2. Punctuality
Do arrive about 10-15 minutes early or at least be on time during the interview day.
Be prepared before entering the interviewer room.
Calm down and control your nervous before meeting the interviewer.

3. Specific Attire
Your appearance may give first impressions to the interviewer.
(Good attire shows your positive personality and attitude)
Dress in a business-like, professionalism manner, smart and formal.
Make sure you feel comfortable in the attire.

P/s: x perlu pakai accessories sarat and make up macam nk g disco k... Juz simple and natural...Kecuali la u ol nk interview jd model...hehe

4. Use good manners
Better to know the interviewer name with his/her appropriate title to call
(e.g Dato’/Datin, Tan Sri/Puan Sri.)
P/s: Jgn mengada nak panggil interviewer abg, akak, makcik or anytg informal...Even dia nampak mcm pakcik baru balik bendang...
Good manner: knocking  the door , giving salam/greetings before entering interview room may reflect the first impression of interviewer towards interviewee.
Shaking hands if necessary.

5. Control body language
Observe your body language and gesture during interview.
The body language and gesture may reflect interviewee’s readiness, calmness and confident while answering question and giving opinion if they are asked to do so.
Body language: walking, seating, speaking, body posture or way of answering questions.
Use body language that show your enthusiasm, confidence, and comfortable with the interview process.

AFTER INTERVIEW

1. Appreciation letter
Send a thoughtful thank you letter or email to the interviewer. 
Maintain your network.
Sending a thank you note or an email will emphasize your professionalism.
It shows some kind of appreciation to the interviewer.

2. Follow up call
Creating an idea in their mind that you are serious and genuinely interested in the job opportunity.
Call the company after a certain amount of time. Do not so rush.
Interviewer should keep in contact with the interviewee/interviewee should contact the company directly.

3. Self-reflection
Reevaluate your performance during interview. 
(Do u feel u have given good answer  and respond to the interviewer?)
How was your feedback vs. interviewer’s feedback?
Evaluation of your performance as a tool to prepare yourself for the next job interview. 
(You can improve yourself in future)

4. Continue searching for job
Do not just depend on one application.
Search for other jobs.
Make a selection.
Start the same process over again.

  2. bole jugak ain..bcoz cikgu cikgi is a career/job jgk kn..bkn sejenis permainan mcm konda-kondi tuh..hihi...=)
